Details
When the “ADIZERO” navy blue and orange jersey was initially released by the Oilers for the 2019-2020 season it was met with mixed reviews. Many fans were not happy as this would be the first Oilers jersey with no white in it at all, the jersey was also absent any touch of the Oilers’ traditional blue and orange. While the new jerseys were different, fans’ perception of them quickly changed once they started to see how sharp they looked on the ice. Initially debuted as an alternate jersey worn only on Friday home games, the jerseys were popular enough with the fans and players that the team would wear them exclusively for home games in the 2021-2022 playoffs, a postseason that Connor McDavid led in points (33). In the summer of 2023, the Oilers announced that the 2023-2024 season would be the final season the team would wear the jersey.
